Abstract
An amplifier circuit is described which uses digitally controlled means to remove the constant dc signal from the output of a photomultiplier photodetector used as a sensor in a pulse radiolysis measurement system. This enables the small (ca. 10%) absorption signal to be measured with much greater accuracy, particularly when a xenon arc lamp, with poor long term stability for millisecond periods, is used as the analyzing light source.
