Abstract

Distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA) calculations are presented for the (7Li,t) reactions to alpha -cluster levels in 18F and compared with the measurements of Cobern and Parker (1977). Direct use is made of the structure model of Merchant and Rowley for 18F, requiring calculations to be made off the energy shell. Spectroscopic factors are obtained for the Kpi =1+ levels, bound and unbound, which show direct correspondence with the previous results in 16O and 20Ne. The DWBA is not useful as a test of precise cluster-model predictions.
