Abstract

In this paper, a dual-polarized conical horn antenna covering X-Ka band is proposed. By optimizing the structure parameters of the circular quad-ridged waveguide, the matching block, and the ridge, good antenna performances, such as ultra-wide working frequency band, low voltage standing wave radio (VSWR) and high gain are achieved. The simulated and measured results show that within the working frequency band (8-40GHz), the VSWR of the both feed ports is below 2.5, with the isolation between the two ports greater than 24 dB and the gain is higher than 10 dBi.
