Abstract
A dual-polarized 2-D monopulse antenna based on substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) is proposed in this article. First, a novel single-layer 2-D monopulse comparator with four dual-mode resonators (DMRs) is presented, which exhibits excellent amplitude-phase consistency and high isolations between input ports. The dual-polarized monopulse performances are realized by exciting the two comparators. Then, a dual-polarized slot coupling radiation element is designed. Based on the proposed comparator and radiation part, a monopulse antenna prototype is fabricated and measured. The measured results show that the −10 dB shared bandwidth is 2.03% (9.75–9.95 GHz) on eight ports, with the null depths of the difference patterns less than −28 dB. The isolations between ports are better than 25 dB due to the orthogonality of the DMR. The measured results are in good agreement with the simulated results.
