Abstract
In this research, we disscussed the encryption process of text messages using the Hill Ciper method with a 3 x 3 key matrix which is arranged based on the password and the number of characters used are 95 characters. After the message is encrypted, the message is inserted into a digital image using a modified LSB method. Furthermore, the image quality testing process involved 10 selected images with varied dimensions and varied lengths of a text message to calculate MSE and PSNR values. Based on the test results of the overall image used, it is found that the average MSE value is 0.03 while the smallest PSNR value is 74,368 and the average PSNR value is 123.91. These results show that the text message security system that has been created has a very good level of security.
