Abstract

The sugar cane’s cultivation in the country is a reality that is intensified even more. With this text, it is intended to present reflections on the effects of culture in the region comprising the districts of EDR (Office of Rural Development) in Jaboticabal, inside the state of Sao Paulo. Among the concerns of this expansion are the concentration of land ownership, exploitation of workers and elimination of jobs, reduction of areas for the production of basic food supplies, intensive migration of the rural’s populations, regional homogenization of rural areas caused by the production of mainly a single culture, and other factors, include the losses promoted by the spread of sugarcane monoculture in the regional territory in question, homogenization of rural regional production mainly caused by a single culture, also others factors, which cover the damage caused by the spread of sugarcane monoculture in this regional territory in question. Through the understanding of data provided by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), Foundation of State System Data Analysis (SEADE) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA). In addition to the reading of articles on the subject, we can reflect and organize ideas for write such text. Through it, we propose in this way, some considerations about the problem that involves the universe of sugar cane.
