Abstract

Aside the wide recognition of blended learning modes as major pedagogical responses among technical vocational education and training (TVET) lecturers, little is known about the perception of TVET lecturers on the opportunities, challenges, and the improvement strategies that can be adopted to encourage them to efficiently integrate blended learning in their teaching and learning practices. This study used a questionnaire administered to 95 TVET lecturers and two focus group discussions with 16 lecturers. The quantitative data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation, while the qualitative data were analyzed thematically. The study findings identified the strengths, challenges and opportunities inherent in blended learning and proposed strategies for improving blended learning usage among vocational and technical education (VTE) lecturers in universities in Nigeria.
