Abstract
Haasen plots are well known for quantifying rate-dependent mechanical behaviour. The Haasen plot provides information regarding the activation volume and strain rate sensitivity of plastic deformation. When extending the application of Haasen plots from pure metal to alloys, the conjecture in traditional analysis is inadequate. The present work critically analyses the analytical formulation of a generalized Haasen plot for both pure metals and alloys.
