Abstract
AbstractMargaret Guenther is currently Associate Rector for Spiritual Formation, St Columba's Episcopal Church, Washington, DC. She is a lecturer, preacher, conductor of workshops and retreats and Professor Emerita of Ascetical Theology, the General Theological Seminary, and she was Director, the Center for Christian Spirituality, the General Theological Seminary (1985–1997). She has worked across the world, including lectureships in Australia and the Netherlands as well as holding teaching roles at George Washington, Harvard and Kansas universities. Her educational background includes (1983) a Masters in Divinity at the General Theological Seminary and a PhD in Germanic Languages and Literatures, Radcliffe College (Harvard University 1958). She was ordained to the priesthood in 1984.
