Abstract

Abstract Very little, previous research has been performed on the effects of prison honor dormitories on the attitudes of inmates. For this research, two instruments, a semantic differential and tlie Public Offender Counseling Inventory, were administered to the inmates of honor and regular dormitories in a targe men's prison. Comparisons of the scores of the honor and regular dormitory members were made by t tests. These comparisons showed major differences in the ways the regular and honor dorm inmates viewed counseling, authority, and the meaning of interpersonal relationships.
