Abstract

The purpose of this study was to answer two basic questions: (1) Is there a significant difference in rankings of counselors' effectiveness as perceived by peer rehabilitation counselors and supervisors; (2) Is there a significant relationship between production or “numbers” and ranked counselors' effectiveness as seen by peer counselors and supervisors. Results of the study indicated a significant agreement between supervisors and peer counselors on who the most effective counselors are. A significant relationship also exists between counselors' effectiveness rankings and caseload production (plans and closures) for both peer counselors and supervisory rankings of effectiveness.
