Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze that news media report on sports in the different gender. The content of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in Taiwan’s United Daily, Apple Daily and Liberty times photographs were collected as the subjects for this study. The content analysis was adopted as the instrumentations of this study. The research period was from 7 August 2008 through 26 August 2008. The conclusions were as follows: First, the proportion of Taiwan newspapers pictures coverage of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games that masculine approximately for feminine two times, indicating a strong male hegemony in sport-related careers in Taiwan. Second, Taiwan newspapers to the related Beijing 2008 Olympic Games photographic coverage in the male and female were difference , because of the sports events, the number of people, the object, the country/area, the character expression, the condition of people and the rank of position.
