Abstract
The authors compare various methods and criteria currently available for predicting voltage collapse problems in power systems. The focus is on identifying the similarities and differences between several voltage collapse indices in terms of the form of the voltage collapse index, the underlying system models, and the criteria for assessing voltage instability. This is accomplished by recasting the methods using a unified notation and identifying the salient features by means of comparison tables. >
