Abstract
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are Utilized in several applications in army, environmental, and medical places. These applications often incorporate the observation of sensitive details like enemy movement to the battlefield and the place of employees in a construction. Security is thus significant in WSNs. But, WSNs suffer from several limitations, suffer with hot spot difficulty, restricted scale, and detection of overlapping areas, extreme, residual power, amount living nodes, throughput, system life, number of nodes that are dead, and the usage of risky wireless communication stations. These limitations make security in WSNs a struggle. Energy efficiency is a significant element in WSNs because the system utilized at an WSN are resource constrained and restricts their general operations. For the system to be operated for an extended lifetime, it ought to reduce the energy intake. Within this guide we provide a survey of energy and security problems in WSNs. To begin with we summarize the limitations, security requirements, and strikes using their corresponding countermeasures at WSNs. Then we introduce a holistic view of energy and security problems. On the way we emphasize the benefits and drawbacks of different WSN security protocols and compare and assess these protocols. We also figure out that the open research topics in each subarea and complete with potential research directions on security and energy efficiency in WSNs.
