Abstract

Self-compacting concrete is a flowing concrete mixture that has the capacity to compact under its own weight. The present trend all over the world is to utilize the industrial by products as a raw material in concrete, which gives an eco-friendly edge to the concrete preparation process. In this present comparative study M60 design mix were made. The OPC is partially replaced by GGBS (25%) & fly ash (25%) both are keeping constant for all triple blended mixes. The glass fiber percentage varies from 0%, 0.1%, 0.15%, 0.2%, 0.25% are added to total volume of concrete mix. With the addition of super plasticizers the concrete mix enriches the quality of workability that will be tested by L-box, U-box, slump flow, V-funnel. Also comparing the strength properties of concrete by with and without use of glass fibers. Hardened properties (i.e. compressive strength, split tensile strength) were improved after addition of fibers. The main aim of the present study is to achieve the optimum dosage of fly ash and GGBS for the cement replacement with 25%, 25% and 50% respectively and fine aggregate is 100% replaced by M-sand,comparing the strength properties with and without use of glass fibers in concrete.
