Abstract

Hydrogen equilibrium pressures as a function of hydrogen content of the metal and temperature have been measured for gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, and lutetium, in the primary solid-solution range up to and including the two-phase region with the dihydride phase. All systems show strong similarities, and all are marked by a decrease in heat of solution of hydrogen in the metal with decreasing hydrogen concentration.
