Abstract

Gas turbine is widely used for generation in power plants and propulsion of ships. The gas turbine is required to operate at different conditions on request. However, its complex dynamics such as multivariable coupling, unknown disturbance and strong nonlinearity, makes it a challenging task to control the gas turbine system. In this paper, a linear offset-free model predictive control algorithm is designed for the gas turbine. Two control modes including single-loop and multi-loop are investigated under the designed control method. Simulations are used to compare the two control mode. From the significant differences, multi-loop mode is preferred because of better performance of reference tracking and disturbance rejection.
