Abstract
Recently, multilevel inverters become widely utilized in industrial power conversion in the range of high power and medium voltage energy control. The paper presents a comparative study of many recent multileveltopologies namely: Cascaded cell Multilevel Inverter (CCMLI), the Diode-Clamped Multilevel Inverter (DCMLI), the Flying Capacitor Multilevel Inverter (FCMLI), the T -type multilevel inverter (TTMLI), the Reduced Switches Multilevel Inverter (RSMLI), the Cascaded Bipolar Switches Cells Multilevel Inverter (CBSCMLI) and the Packed U-Cell multilevel inverter (PUCMLI). The comparison will take into account the type of connection to the dc source: separated or common dc bus. The results of these three level inverters are obtained via simulation and compared basing on the power quality criteria such as the output voltage and current qualities, THD content, the complexity of the power circuit and the cost.
