Abstract

ABSTRACT A comparative study of the effects of the air-cooling and water-cooling methods used in the large hydraulic generators on the machine active materials costs. efficiency, d-axis transient reactance, d-axis subtransient reactance, short circuit ratio, inertia constant and rotor maximum peripheral speed is presented. By using the multiobjective optimum design, these economic benifits and performance parameters are given.
