Abstract

It is a hard fact that the growth achieved, the experiences gained, responsibilities felt and the relationship depended at this stage destine the Complete future of an individual. Most of the effects on an adolescent are of his/her family climate. The present study is related to a comparative study of Intelligence of adolescents in relation to their family climate. The Objective of the study is to compare the intelligence of boys & girls of favorable and unfavorable family climate. The cluster random sampling technique is used to select the sample, hence schools were taken as a unit for the sampling and selecting schools randomization was performed. The Four schools were chosen randomly. One hundred adolescents were given intelligence inventory and family climate questionnaire. Family climate scale (FCS) constructed by Dr. Beena Shah, Rohil Khand University Bareilly (U.P.) and Verbal intelligence Test (VIT) constructed by Dr. R.K. Ojha and Dr. K Ray Choudhury were used to collect the data. The findings show that there is no significance difference between the intelligence of boys and girls under favorable and unfavorable family climate. But the intelligence of adolescents is affected to some extent by their family environment, so, every parents should try to provide effective and meaningful environment.
