Abstract
Innovation and entrepreneurship have become the focus of many aspects of China's economic development and education management. Innovation and entrepreneurship education has also been generally implemented in universities and colleges. In recent years, design thinking has overwhelmed the world and has become an important part of innovative education courses. In recent years, the development of design thinking in Taiwan’s colleges and universities has achieved good results. Taiwan and China have the same cultural background, but Taiwan has an education mechanism similar to that of Western countries. A comparative study of the development of design thinking education on both sides of the strait has shown great influence on the mainland. It is of great reference value for colleges and universities to further improve the teaching of design thinking. This research adopts literature method, field survey method, person interview method to summarize and sort out the general situation of design thinking courses carried out by colleges and universities on both sides of the strait, and conduct a comparative analysis to summarize relevant commonalities and individualities. Such comparative research has allowed both sides of the Taiwan Strait to promote design thinking in mainland universities and stimulate the motivation of mainland universities to teach design thinking. It also allows universities and related people in Taiwan to see certain development opportunities.
