Abstract
A compact ultra-wideband dual-polarization microstrip patch antenna is proposed. The upper patch of the proposed antenna adopts a pentagonal structure, and two ports share one radiating patch to reduce the antenna volume. Pentagonal patch through the T-slot to improve the isolation of the two ports and the high polarization purity. The ground of the antenna uses a defective ground structure and an arrowhead-shaped stub to improve impedance matching in order to extend the bandwidth significantly. The measured results show that the proposed antenna has good impedance matching (S11<−10dB), high port isolation (S21<−15dB) and high polarization purity from 2.7GHz to 12GHz, which demonstrate the proposed antenna can be a good candidate for UWB applications.
