Abstract

A compact high voltage isolation transformer insulated by epoxy resin and SF6 gas media was developed and has been successfully used for feeding electricity through a polyethylene insulated cable to the 350 kV injector of the JAERI tandem accelerator for about three years. The insulation level of the transformer and the cable, and the current capacity of the secondary winding were designed to be 500 kV and 58 A at 200 V of 3 phase, respectively.
