Abstract
To reduce the contribution of series white noise, a discrete FET input voltage preamplifier for the high-sensitivity fission chamber detector was realized on a 25 ∗ 25 mm2 PCB by using the operational amplifier as the gain and driver stage. The rise time reaches a constant of 12 ns when the capacitance exceeds 400 pF. The slope of equivalent noise charge is 10 electrons/pF in a shaping system of 50 ns time constant. Using this preamplifier, the threshold performances of fission chamber under neutron source irradiation a neutron source were verified, moreover the charge collection time of detector was observed.
