Abstract
In this publication, the authors offer explanations as to why there is no consistent correlation factor between the bio-fluorescent particle counts (BFPC), expressed in autofluorescence units or AFU and the traditional microbiological colony-forming unit (CFU) and why this non-correlation between AFU and CFU should not be a barrier to fully leveraging, implementing and using such modern technologies in routine monitoring due to what they describe as ″the fallacies and limitations with the CF″.
