Abstract

Abstract Three new species of chiggers from Thailand are described and illustrated: Herpetacarus leptochaeta and Microtrombicula chamlongi, both from the skink, Riopa bowringi, and H. cadigani from the gecko, Phyllodactylus siamensis. Preliminary analysis of host-parasite relationships suggests site preferences for 3 species, H. leprochaeta, M. chamlongi and Babiangia parmifera (Womersley) on Riopa bowringi and an ecological separation of these species with respect to the host macrohabitat.
