Abstract

Ectoparasitic mites collected from three Hipposideros speoris (Schneider, 1800) hosts (Chiroptera: Hipposideridae) taken from bat habitats in the Kanneliya Forest Reserve of Sri Lanka has revealed the presence of two new species of chiggers, one in the genus Whartonia in the Leeuwenhoekiidae and one in the genus Chiroptella (Neosomia) in the Trombiculidae. Descriptions and remarks are presented.
