A client's view of Theodore J. Schultz

Abstract

This paper describes how the author met Ted Schultz and their joint approach to a study of reverberation problems in the Olin Fine Arts Center at Washington and Jefferson College. This introduction led to collaboration on the remodeling of Benedum Center for the Performing Arts, with particular emphasis on design of the Proscenium and Rehearsal room A. Subsequent projects included the successful remodeling of Swasey Chapel at Denison University (from Church to Concert Hall). The presentation includes slides of drawings and actual realized designs, light studies of models and in full‐scale buildings, and examples of Ted adjusting panels at Denison University.
