Abstract
We experienced a case of maliganant lymphoma of the cecum presented with intussusception, which was successfully treated by high dose chemotherapy with Peripheral Blood Stem Cell autotransplantation (PBSCT) after surgery. A 19-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of a lower abdominal pain and diarrhea. The patient showed severe abdominal pain and melena after Barium enema. Emer-gency operation was performed. Laparotomy findings showed a hen egg-sized tumor with intussusception at the ileocecal region. Ileocecal resection was carried out. The torous tumor like I type, 5.5×5×2.8cm in size, existed at the center of Bauhin's valve in the resected specimen. The histological diagnosis was non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (B cell type) and follicular lymphoma, medium-sized cell type in LSG classifi-cation. After the surgery, chemotherapy with PBSCT was performed. This case was rare clinically and histologically. Furthermore chemotherapy with PBSCT is an interesting therapy which can be applied for malignant tumors in the future.
