Abstract
7ヵ月齢の雄のハムスターが、口腔から腫瘤が飛び出したため受診した。臨床所見から、左の頬袋が反転した頬袋脱と診断した。ハムスターは前肢で頬袋を掴むようにして取り除こうとする動作を繰り返していた。頬袋は浮腫により腫大していたため、還納することは困難であった。吸入麻酔を施し、超音波手術装置のショートシザーズで脱出した頬袋の基部を挟み、20～30秒の操作で頬袋を切除することができた。麻酔開始から手術終了までの時間はわずか5分で、術後、速やかに飲食ができるようになった。本例は、超音波手術装置を用いてハムスターの頬袋脱の手術を行った最初の報告である。
