Abstract

Background and Aims: We recently demonstrated that the CCC (CCDC22/CCDC93/COMMDs) complex is required for the endosomal recycling of the lipoprotein receptors LDLR, LRP1 and SR-BI. Hepatic loss of CCC causes hypercholesterolemia in mice and humans. Retriever, a multiprotein complex consisting of VPS29, VPS26C and VPS35L, shares the subunit VPS35L with the CCC complex but its contribution to lipoprotein receptor recycling and plasma lipid regulation remains unclear. This study aimed to assess the contribution of retriever to the regulation of plasma lipids.
