Abstract

This note presents a calculus proof of the famous Pythagorean theorem, which has been proved in more than 350 different ways by using geometric arguments since the first proof given by Pythagoras (565-495 BC). The proof presented here also involves function concepts in such a way that it provides a rather straightforward argument.
