Abstract

In this paper, a broadband dual-polarized antenna with high isolation and gain is proposed for LTE/5G base stations. The dual-polarized antenna consists of two perpendicular ± 45° coplanar dipoles and it is fed by two coaxial cables. The antenna also includes two square rings, four metal cylinders and a reflector. The simulation results show that the bandwidth of the dual-polarized antenna is 44.1% (2300-3600MHz) and the isolation between the two polarization ports is greater than 25dB when the return loss is greater than 15dB. The half-power beam width of the dual-polarized antenna is about 60 ± 50, and the gain of the antenna increases gradually from 8.5dB to 11dB. The proposed antenna achieves broadband, dual polarization and high radiation efficiency, and it has simple structure. It is suitable for LTE/5G base station applications. Detailed antenna structure and simulation results are given in this paper.
