Abstract

The binuclear silver(I) cryptate [Ag 2L])ClO 4) 2 (L = C 48H 66N 8O 6) was prepared by [2+3] Schiff base condensation of tris(3-aminopropyl)amine with 2,5-dimethoxy-1,3-phenylenedialdehyde in the presence of AgNO 3. Crystal structure determination shows the cryptate possesses a formula C 48H 66N 8O 14Ag 2Cl 2. Each silver coordinates to three nitrogen atoms and has a slightly distorted trigonal environment. The coordinated atoms form a sulphur chain.
