Abstract

An anionic zinc-adeninate MOF ZJU-64-NH2 has been successfully fabricated by solvothermal method. The high crystallinity of ZJU-64-NH2 was confirmed through powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) analysis. The cationic model drug procainamide (PA) was efficiently encapsulated into ZJU-64-NH2 through electrostatic interaction, and its loading capacity was determined to be 12.97 wt%. The drug delivery system PA@ZJU-64-NH2 exhibited Ca2+-triggered drug release due to ion exchange, indicating promising potential for bone tumor therapy. The excellent biocompatibility of ZJU-64-NH2 was demonstrated through MTT assay and confocal microscopy imaging.
