Abstract

The turnover intention has garnered the attention of scholars and professionals due to its competitive advantage. Despite extant literature, the current dynamics and research diversity of turnover intention (TI) remain obscure. Therefore, this study aims at conducting a bibliometric analysis of TI in the domain of business and management. In this study, articles containing predefined protocols have been extracted from the Web of Science database. In addition, the 936 articles published between 2002 and 2022 were analysed using bibliometric methods such as performance analysis and science mapping. The study highlighted the top contributing nations, most influential authors, leading journals, co-authorship collaborations and major research areas. Furthermore, the science mapping approach resulted in the formation of major clusters highlighting the significant themes of the TI literature. This study is distinctive in the field of TI as it investigates the conceptual framework of research on turnover intention. Scholars and professionals will benefit from the theoretical and practical contributions as well as the suggested future directions made in this study.
