Abstract

The research of Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) is of great engineering significance and demand, and its development in engineering applications is also very rapid in recent years. For example, FSS structure is used in the development of radome and multi-band multiplexing of satellite antenna, which is successfully applied to aerospace technology. In this paper, a kind of triangular conical bandpass FSS radome is designed to arrange and bend the cell structure with aperture shape, which avoids the damage of complex elements in FSS structure to the structure of radar radome. The influence of cell size, gate lobe suppression, unit arrangement mode, and medium thickness on resonance frequency is considered in the design. The FSS has good frequency selectivity. It has a good transmission to the electromagnetic wave within pass-band and good reflection to the electromagnetic wave outside the pass-band, which makes the gain in the antenna work bandwidth bigger than that without FSS, and the gain outside pass-band is relatively reduced, which means it has a certain inhibition effect, so the FSSR has good band-pass filtering performance. It provides a reference for designing conformal FSSR, and also provides a way of thinking for electromagnetic wave protection.
