Abstract
A newly identified tablet in Manchester makes possible the almost complete reconstruction of a Sumerian balbale composition addressed to the god Ninurta. The short poem, composed in formulaic style, emphasises the connection of Ninurta with the fertility of flora and fauna in various landscape settings.
