Abstract
Pyloroplasty is a surgical technique used to treat pyloric stenosis for benign diseases, as hypertrophic pyloric stenosis, peptic ulcer scarring, systemic sclerosis and also during surgeries as vagotomy or gastric tube reconstruction after esophagectomy, leading to slow gastric emptying and gastric dilation. The Heineke-Mikulicz technique is the gold standard for treating pyloric stenosis. It consists on a transverse incision of the pylorus with a longitudinal suture, preserving the mucosal layer.
