Abstract

Improving adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health (AYSRH) is important in preventing unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, and unsafe abortion. Despite improvement in AYSRH highest adolescent pregnancy rate and the lowest rate of contraceptive use in sub-Saharan Africa including Ethiopia. Ethiopian Demographic Health Survey (EDHS) 2016 show that, modern contraceptive use among adolescents 15-19 and youth 20-24 age years is 31.8% and 38.5 % respectively. Chancho health center maternity unit and Quality improvement team conducted base line assessment of six months and identified gaps service provision modalities by untrained providers, low contraceptive use among adolescents and youths which is 47%.
