Abstract
This study is concerned with the theoretical treatment of transient thermal stress problem involving functionally graded cylindrical panel under nonuniform heat supply in the circumferential direction. We obtain the approximate solution for two-dimensional temperature change in a transient state, and thermal stress of simple supported cylindrical panel under the state of plane strain. As an example, numerical calculations are carried out for functionally graded materials, and the numerical results obtained by approximate solution and exact solution are compared.
