Abstract

All offshore structure platforms should be connected to subsea pipelines to import and export fluid to and from the platform. The method of design of the subsea pipeline is discussed in this chapter from a stress analysis point of view, which includes the bottom stability and free span analysis. Vortex-induced vibration and pipeline buckling are addressed also. There are different methods for pipeline installation presented in this chapter with the constraints for each method discussed, in addition to their limitations and the procedure for using them. The pipeline installation technique and the technical interfaces between the different disciplines are discussed also.
