Abstract
This chapter focuses on elastomers and rubbers. Chemical structures with effects of radiation, manufacturers, and trade names of the plastics are included, besides extensive tabular and graphical physical, mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties before and after various radiation exposures. Elastomers and rubbers included in this section are thermoplastic copolyester elastomers, thermoplastic polyether block polyamide elastomers, styrenic block copolymer thermoplastic elastomers, butyl rubber, polychloroprene, ethylene-propylene rubbers, epichlorohydrin rubber, fluoroelastomers, natural rubber, acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, butyl rubber, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, polysulfide rubber, ethylene acrylic rubber, and polysiloxane/silicone rubber.
