Abstract
This chapter provides an overview of adhesive bonding processes and products and their various applications in the textiles industry. Surfaces that can be bonded show broad variation in their chemistry and structure; consequently, adhesives used for bonding processes must be designed and selected according to their specific application. Furthermore, there is an increasing demand for adhesive joints to fulfil multiple additional functions. This chapter shows the versatility of adhesive bonding in everyday textile products and discusses state-of-the-art possibilities and future trends and requirements.
