Abstract

Chronic low back pain (CLBP) interferes with the ability to perform daily activities and enjoy life. Thus, treatment aimed at relieving pain also should restore a person’s ability to perform daily activities and enjoy life. These pain-specific outcomes were assessed in a 7-week, open-label, non-comparative, repeated-dose, study designed to characterize the efficacy and safety of once-daily OROS® hydromorphone in patients with CLBP (N= 198) who had been stabilized for at least 2 consecutive days on prior oral or transdermal opioid medication.
