Abstract

This chapter reviews handling errors and debugging visual basic for application (VBA). It explores what might go wrong with Outlook VBA code and the way it can be fixed. Outlook includes many tools to assist the user in tracking down such problems in VBA. To debug Outlook applications, one needs to understand that many types of errors can occur in the course of designing and running a VBA procedure. One classification scheme might divide them into five varieties: simple syntax errors, compile errors, runtime errors, logic errors, and Outlook application bugs.
