Abstract
Chromium is one of the most ominous metals extensively discharged as waste by industries such as leather, electroplating, wood pulp, and textile into water bodies. Several physical, chemical, and biological techniques have been employed for heavy metal remediation. Adsorption has gathered enormous attention due to its utilization of green and sustainable ways such as low-cost-effective agricultural wastes for cleaning wastewater contaminated by heavy metals. Various microorganisms have also emerged as efficient adsorbents for bioremediation utilizing green pathways that need to be channelized effectively. This chapter provides a one-stop reference for all researchers working in wastewater treatment as it encompasses the latest reference of bio-sorbents for the removal of chromium from different effluents.
