Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the most common and aggressive types of malignancy which is associated with an unfavourable prognosis. Conventional chemotherapy for breast cancer is currently based on the use of classical cytotoxic drugs including taxol. But such therapeutic strategies unfortunately often lead to acquisition of drug resistance which is one of the main reasons of relapse and metastasis. In the present study we investigated potential molecular mechanisms of more malignant phenotype acquisition by taxol-resistant breast cancer cells.
