Abstract
Structural color reflection, including that originating from butterflies, peacocks, and some insects, is generated by the interactions of nanoscale periodic structures with light in photonic crystals. To fabricate such materials, the self-assembly of colloidal crystals was employed to create structural colors onto textiles. Effective technologies used to tune the structural colors and dual reflections were explored. The applications of structural colors were also reviewed.
