Abstract

High strength steel and aluminium alloy sheets were joined by self-piercing riveting. Die geometry was optimised to attain proper joints and the joining range for the high strength steel and the aluminium alloy sheets was shown. In addition, the finite element simulation of self-piercing riveting was effective in designing the process. Finally, future trends of self-piercing riveting were given.
